It is estimated that over 70% of potentially usable business information is unstructured, often in the form of text data. Text mining provides a collection of techniques that allow us to derive actionable insights from these data.
This two day course will show you the various tools and major techniques using Python NLTK and Scikit Learn packaes for text mining and analyzing text data to discover interesting patterns, extract useful knowledge, and support decision making, with an emphasis on statistical approaches, to making sense of unstructured data.

Course Outcomes
By the end of the course, learners will be able to
- identify and develop text analytics solutions using Cross-Industry Standard Process for Data Mining (CRISP-DM).
- read in text corpus and perform text pre-processing using Python.
- perform text analytics and modify the data using Python with feature engineering.
- perform sentimental analysis using Python from social media data.
- perform sentiment summarization and visualization using Python.

Certification
Two e-certificates will be awarded to trainees who have demonstrated competency in the WSQ assessment and achieved at least 75% attendance.
- A SkillsFuture WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by WSG. Typically will take 3-4 weeks.
- Certification of Completion issued by Tertiary Infotech Pte Ltd issued after the class.
WSQ Funding
WSQ funding is only applicable to Singaporeans and PR. Subject to eligibility, the funding support is subjected to funding caps.
